Camera Overage — Deactivate & Reactivate
- Genie URL: https://gcsurge-docs.nxgen.cloud/gcsurge/docs/billing/camera-overage-deactivate-reactivate
Deactivate overage lets users stop extra charges for a specific camera after it exceeds the included alarm quota. Each camera includes 3,000 alarms per subscription period, processed through Nova99x false alarm filtering. After a camera exceeds the included quota, each extra alarm is billed at €0.03 per alarm.
For more details on the billing table and per-camera cost columns, see My Subscription & Billing View.
What does “overage” mean?
Overage means a camera has passed its included alarm quota for the current billing period.
Each subscribed camera includes:
3,000 alarms per subscription period
After the camera exceeds 3,000 alarms, each extra alarm is charged at:
€0.03 per additional alarm
These charges apply to Nova99x false alarm filtering usage above the included quota.
What is Nova99x false alarm filtering?
Nova99x false alarm filtering reduces unnecessary alarms by filtering alarm events before they become billable or operational noise.
The included alarm quota covers a defined amount of Nova99x filtering usage per camera. When usage passes that quota, extra alarm filtering usage may create overage charges.
What happens when I deactivate overage?
When overage is deactivated for a camera, extra alarms above the included 3,000-alarm quota will no longer create overage charges.
The camera itself is not deactivated. The subscription remains active. The change only affects extra billing for Nova99x false alarm filtering after the included quota has been exceeded.
Example
A camera includes 3,000 alarms. If the camera reaches 3,500 alarms:
500 overage alarms × €0.03 = €15.00 overage cost
If overage is deactivated, those extra charges are stopped for that camera for the remainder of the billing period.
When should I deactivate overage?
Deactivate overage when you want to control extra charges for a camera generating more alarms than expected. This may be useful when:
- A camera has exceeded the included alarm quota.
- A site is generating too many false alarms.
- The camera setup needs review.
- The customer wants to prevent further overage charges.
- The alarm source is being investigated.
Will deactivating overage deactivate the camera?
No. Deactivating overage does not deactivate the camera.
It only controls whether extra alarms above the included quota can generate overage charges for Nova99x false alarm filtering.
Can overage be reactivated later?
Yes. Overage can be reactivated at any time. After reactivation, alarms above the included 3,000-alarm quota will be billed again at €0.03 per alarm.
